The Beats Solo 4 headphones are on sale for $130 right now, a steep plunge from their $199.95 MSRP. While we’ve seen these headphones closer to $100 in the past, that was last summer, and it doesn’t seem like such deals will be making a comeback soon.
One thing you’ll love about these headphones is the battery life, which is outstanding. You get up to 50 hours on a charge, which is amazing for wireless headphones. You’ll basically never need to think about charging, but if you get into trouble, a quick 10-minute plug-in will give an extra five hours of playback.
The Beats Solo 4 are great with all systems, which is definitely a bonus over Apple’s main AirPods brand of headphones. One-touch pairing works for both iOS and Android, so you’re not locked into Apple gear to get the easy setup. That flexibility matters if you switch between a work phone and a personal one, or share them around the house. For wired listening, you can plug in over USB-C or a 3.5mm cable and get high-resolution lossless audio, something that will be quite handy when you want to enjoy the best sound or when your battery is dead, and you really want to continue your jam session.
One thing you have to be well aware of before buying is that these are on-ear headphones, which might not be as comfortable as AirPods Max and other over-ear headphones, especially on long listening sessions. The headphones also don’t have active noise cancellation, so they’ll just mildly block out the world around you. The $249 Beats Studio Pro do come with ANC, and they’re also on sale for $170 (32% off), so you might want those.
But at $130, the Beats Solo 4 are a great pick for those who want long battery life, cross-platform listening, and solid sound.
