If you’re still using an older version of Windows 10, you may soon encounter problems synchronizing your files with Microsoft’s cloud storage service, OneDrive. Neowin reports that the company will be discontinuing OneDrive’s support for older versions of Windows 10 soon.
Microsoft says that OneDrive will no longer support Windows 10 22H1 starting August 15th, 2026. That means the company will no longer guarantee compatibility and functionality after that date.
Once the August 15th deadline passes, it may still be possible to synchronize your files to the OneDrive cloud, but you’ll no longer receive new features, security updates, or bug fixes. If you encounter any problems after August 15th, they’re unlikely to be resolved.
If you’re still on Windows 10 22H1 and want to keep using OneDrive for the foreseeable future, you should update to Windows 10 22H2 before the deadline. Windows 10 22H2 PCs will continue to work with OneDrive and receive updates until October 10th, 2028.
