We don’t expect any new hardware this month with the looming iPhone/Apple Watch event coming in September. If you like your surprises spoiled, though, August is a good month for Apple rumors. Production will kick up for the new iPhones and Apple Watches, and sometimes other hardware that Apple plans to release in the fall. And with large-scale manufacturing comes leaks.
So August will probably be the month we get our best picture of the upcoming iPhones, Macs, and other devices Apple has planned for release this fall. Plus, the new operating systems are well into their public beta testing process—those will continue, but there probably won’t be any big surprises.

OS 27 beta testing continues
We don’t expect any new hardware in August (not with the big September iPhone event so close), but there will be plenty of software to check out if you participate in the beta program.
We’re currently at the fourth beta release for all the OS 27 updates: iOS, macOS, iPadOS, watchOS, visionOS. New releases go out to developers every two weeks or so, with the public beta testers getting the same builds a day or two later. So expect two more beta releases in August, potentially three.
At this point, most of the big features and changes in the OS 27 betas are already here, and Apple is just refining things, fixing bugs, and optimizing performance. We’ll be scouring the builds for potential hidden information about the upcoming products, too.
