According to the code, the home hub’s UI will feature Faces and a Face Gallery, which sounds like it will be similar to the watchOS UI. Separately, MacRumors reports that macOS 26.7 has mentions of a Widget Gallery with strings to a product with a model number of J490, which has been identified as that of the home hub. Esposito stated that the new device will be able to sense when an iPhone is nearby to display ifnormation form that iPhone in the hub’s widgets, with iPhone widgets displayed on the hub.
MacRumors also reports that the home hub will support Smart Stacks, which is a feature on the Apple Watch for presenting widgets.
The masOC 26.7 RC also includes references to a rumored tabletop robot, but it’s not expected to be released anytime soon. Apple is also working on updates to the HomePod mini and Apple TV 4K, which are expected to arrive later this year.
