Now that’s more like it! All last year, $400 seemed to be the floor for new (not refurbished) OLED monitors, at least in the US. Then 2025 happened and, for some unfathomable reason, electronics in every category shot up in price. But now as we turn the corner towards Black Friday, we’re finally seeing prices head back down—like this 27-inch OLED gaming monitor that’s just $400 on Best Buy today.
This is an especially good deal because it’s from a major brand (Acer) and it’s notably faster than the current OLED gaming monitor baseline. At 280Hz, the Acer Predator X27U beats out other “budget” OLEDs by a solid 15 percent. Most gamers won’t be particularly swayed by that, but if you’re a dedicated Counter-Strike or Valorant player, that extra 40 visible frames per second could make a difference.
The X27U is using the nearly-standard 27-inch resolution “sweet spot” of 2560×1440, offering a nice boost over your typical 1080p screen without overtaxing most gaming desktops or laptops. Oh, speaking of laptops, you’ll need a hub or dock if you want to use USB. While this monitor has a lot going for it, it looks like it has zip, zero, zilch in the way of USB ports of any alphabetical description. So yeah, all that speed and glorious OLED picture is meant for desktops over DisplayPort or double HDMI.
Even with limited multi-device connectivity, this is still a fantastic option for someone who wants an affordable OLED upgrade. It’s as cheap as we’re likely to a see a name-brand OLED monitor this year, and if you live near a Best Buy, there’s a decent chance you can pick it up in-store if you’re in a hurry. If you want something more affordable, you should have a gander at PCWorld’s Black Friday monitor deals roundup.
