OLED monitors are getting cheaper and cheaper, but they’re still far from what most people would call “affordable.”
But today, you can grab the Alienware AW3423DWF — a 34-inch ultrawide OLED gaming monitor that’s already popular for its frequent sales — at a new, all-time low price: Dell is selling it right now for $700, an astonishing $400 off its original retail price.
This is Dell’s second-ever OLED gaming monitor and it sacrifices just a few tiny details from the original Alienware AW3423DW (which is our top pick for best gaming monitor). This one keeps the semi-standard 34-inch 3440×1400 ultrawide form factor and the gentle curve in the panel, along with the HDMI 2.0 and double DisplayPort inputs. You also get five USB expansion ports and a headset jack, though sadly there’s no USB-C video.
With its 165Hz refresh rate and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro instead of Nvidia G-Sync, it seems like a pretty fair swap for the lesser price compared to the more premium model.
But at $700 for a gorgeous OLED monitor that’s more than capable of high-end gaming, this is an absolute bargain next to almost any other OLED on the market — and that’s doubly true if you use a gaming desktop and don’t need an all-in-one laptop connection. You can read PCWorld’s full review of this monitor for more details.
Dell is selling this Alienware monitor on its web store, and these deals tend to stick around for a while there. Even so, there’s always a rush when an already-popular OLED hits a new low. So, if you’re ready to buy, I wouldn’t hesitate to grab this monitor ASAP.
