Firefox can now show two websites in one tab. Here’s how

Firefox is making it easier to work with two web pages at once. In version 149, the developers added a new feature that allows a single tab to display two web pages side by side. You could, for example, keep Google Maps open on one side to follow your route while searching for accommodation on the other.

Activating this feature is simple. Just right-click a tab in the Firefox title bar and select Add Split View. The page will now appear on the left, while Firefox displays its home screen with a search bar on the right. From there, you can visit any page you like.

If you already have other tabs open, Firefox will show you a list of them, allowing you to place one alongside the first page. The same feature is also available in the latest versions of Google Chrome and Opera. In Chrome, simply right-click a tab and select New Split View with Current Tab.

Once you’ve loaded a web page on each side, right-click and select Arrange Split View → Swap Views to switch the positions. In Opera, the context menu command is called Split Screen.
