Ever since Apple raised prices on MacBooks last month, we’ve been on the lookout for anything that comes close to the prices they were before. Today’s deal gets there: B&H Photo is selling a 14-inch M5 MacBook Pro with a 96W power adapter for $1,729, a savings of $290 on the price Apple charges and just $10 more than the price before the hike.
This is the base-model MacBook Pro, but you’re still getting a lot of high-end features, including the speedy M5 chip, 1TB of storage, 2x faster read/write performance compared to the M4 model. You can also hook up a pair of high-resolution external displays as well as Thunderbolt 5 drives. And with the bundled 96W charger, you’ll get fast charging (up to 50 percent battery in around 30 minutes) as well.
Of course, it also comes with a brilliant Liquid Retina XDR display with ProMotion and XDR, tons of expansion, including Thunderbolt 5, HDMI, and an SDXC card slot, and Wi-Fi 6E. And it all comes wrapped in Apple’s sleek design that’s gorgeous in either silver or space black. We loved this model when we reviewed it and still recommend it even at the higher price.
So go save $300 and get a great laptop at the price it should be.
