Our Verdict
The Mophie Roam is the best choice, thanks to its faster 25W Qi2.2 charging and compact design. Older models remain worthwhile for 15W charging, colourful limited editions or, in the case of the original Gen 1, outstanding value.

What are they? Foldable 3-in-1 travel chargers for Apple iPhone, Watch and AirPods.
Which one is best? The Gen 4 Roam is the newest and fastest, offering 25W Qi2.2 charging for iPhone 16 models. The Gen 1 delivers the best value at around $39, while the colourful Gen 3 Orange/Teal and Gen 2 Cherry Blossom editions are the best picks for style.

We recently reviewed the clever and rather lovely Mophie Roam 3-in-1, but while researching it we came across a bunch of other Mophie travel chargers that are still on sale and certainly caught our eye.
Mophie continues to sell all four generations of its 3-in-1 travel chargers, making it easy to get confused by the different designs, colours, charging speeds and prices.
In this guide we’ll compare every model to explain the differences and help you decide which best suits your needs, whether you prioritise the latest technology, fastest charging, best value or a distinctive limited-edition colour.
How do the Mophie travel chargers compare?
Mophie has a neat don’t-look-at-me black 3-in-1 travel charger for iPhone, Watch and AirPods case that folds up into small wallet form that fits into a cute case. At the time of writing, you can find it reasonably priced at under $40 or a little more on Amazon.
But it’s hard not to fall in love with a couple of limited-edition versions with colors (and much higher prices) that will make you sit up and notice. There’s a fun, postmodern orange and teal limited edition Mophie 3-in-1 travel charger that we’ve reviewed here and is guaranteed to brighten up your day when powering up your Apple devices. And there’s a slightly older Cherry Blossom pretty pink model that’s super cute.
The latest model is the Roam that is built on Mophie’s clever StealthCharge technology that maximizes 25W iPhone charging speeds for iPhones 16 and later. Read our Mophie StealthCharge Roam 3-in-1 Travel Charger review. The Roam is a great travel charger, but you should also consider previous-generation models for some fun colors and cheaper prices.
All these 3-in-1 chargers work with any iPhone (12 or later), any Apple Watch model, and AirPods with a wireless-compatible case.

If charging speed is your priority, the Roam is the clear winner, thanks to its enhanced thermal design that maintains faster charging than the older 15W models.

What’s different about the designs?
All the portable models are designed for travel, folding up neatly to fit into matching compact travel cases. You can arrive at your destination without the usual tangled mess of cables.
The smallest folded Mophie travel charger is the Gen 3, available in the great multi-colored version we’ve tested here and also black if all the fun has drained out of your life. It also features the bi-fold design that takes up less desk space when unfolded. The tri-fold unfolds to a length of nearly a foot across, while the bi-fold measures half that when laid out. That’s because the AirPods charging pad on the bi-fold is hidden behind the more able iPhone adjustable charging stand.

The Roam and Orange/Teal 3-in-1 Travel Charger differ from the Black and Pink versions by hosting the AirPods charging pad behind the orange adjustable iPhone wireless charging stand. This bi-fold design gives it a smaller footprint when opened up, compared to the older models’ longer strip.
The Pink and Black models charge the iPhone only in a flat position, but all three allow the Watch to sit up in Nightstand Mode. The Roam and Orange/Teal models features the stand but can also charge the iPhone flat if you prefer.
The stand for the Roam and Orange chargers is fine for setting the iPhone in a landscape/horizontal StandBy Mode, but less successful with the iPhone is in portrait/vertical when the magnetic placement makes the Watch part lift slightly.

How fast can they charge your devices?
The main benefit of the latest Roam travel charger is its more powerful Qi2.2 wireless charging output that means iPhones 16 or later can charge at up to 25W. It beats most other 25W 3-in-1 travel chargers through its StealthCharge technology that protects the phone from the heat generated by such powerful wireless charging by moving the potentially hot components away from the phone charging pad.
Older iPhones don’t support 25W wireless charging, so remain at Qi2/MagSafe’s 15W maximum. Even then, StealthCharge might make 15W charging a little more efficient, too.

Simon Jary
The other Mophie travel chargers are all rated at 15W for all iPhones (12 and later).
While the black Gen 1 charger can reach 5W for fast-charging the Apple Watch, the others support 7.5W charging, which should mean you can put your Watch back on your wrist sooner. The gen 1 charger is also marginally slower powering up compatible AirPods.
How much does each travel charger cost?
Look around as while all the chargers have official retail prices at $149.95, pricing can be cheaper as the products get older—but not always. It would be great to have a mid-ranged product between the premium and super-affordable. It’s likely that the company is selling off the last of the 2021-vintage Gen 1 so stocks will run dry at some stage.
You’ll find the gen 4 Mophie Roam at Apple for $149.95 or £119.95, or buy it direct from Mophie or Zagg UK.
If you are as taken by the Mophie Orange/Teal Special Edition Gen 3 travel charger as I am, it’s still officially priced at $149.95 or £149.95, or check Amazon.
Note that Roam and Orange comes with a 40W wall charger and international plug adapters, while the pink and black travel chargers ship with just a 30W charger, All come with a matching travel case.
Fancy the pretty pink Cherry Blossom Mophie Gen 2 travel charger? Zagg is still selling it as $149.95 or you can find it at Amazon.
If you are after the lowest cost and don’t care for joyful colorways, you can find the Mophie Gen 1 for $39 at Zagg, or $49.95 at Amazon. The cheapest we could find it in the U.K. was £61 at Amazon.
We’ve tested more of the best 3-in-1 iPhone/Watch/AirPods chargers for further comparisons.
Which Mophie 3-in-1 Travel Charger should you buy?
At 25W the Gen 4 Roam is the fastest of all the Mophie travel chargers, although only for iPhones 16 and later. If you aren’t planning on upgrading your iPhone for a while and are happy with 15W charging, consider one of the other models in their fun colors. You may have guessed that the 15W Orange/Teal Gen 3 is a particular favorite—it shares a similar design to the Roam but radically different color scheme, and it’s certainly hard to miss. If you’re more a lover of pink, the Gen 2 Cherry Blossom charger will definitely be for you, but for the cheapest price the original Gen 1 Mophie Travel Charger is hard to beat for budgets.
