It’s a horrible time to upgrade everything inside your computer. But it’s a pretty darn great time to get a new monitor, especially if you want to step up to an OLED design with impossible blacks, infinite contrast, and instant pixel response times. I’ve tracked down five of the most affordable ones on the web, in different categories for different PC gamers and media connoisseurs.

The standard: Acer 27-inch QHD OLED, 240Hz, $315

27 inches, 2560×1440 resolution, 240Hz. That’s the baseline spec for a gaming OLED in 2026. Alienware set a new floor for prices earlier this year, and Acer is matching it with its long-standing Predator brand. This X27U monitor is pretty barebones, definitely intended for those who already have a robust PC gaming setup and want an affordable upgrade for gorgeous, speedy gaming. But the double DisplayPort and HDMI inputs make it great if you have multiple PCs or game consoles around.

I’ve been using a 34-inch monitor for years, and I love the little extra space it gives me without pushing into the framerate stress of 4K. At 3440×1440, the format is perfect for gaming in ultra-widescreen. This LG UltraGear OLED monitor matches all the specs of the Acer above while stretching the aspect ratio to 21:9, and adding a dramatic curve to the panel. You also get G-Sync certification and USB-C video with 65 watts of charging, great for a standard laptop. This format and speed would cost well over $1200 from other brands.

The big one: Samsung Odyssey 49-inch ultrawide OLED, 240Hz, $900

Oh. You’re that kind of gamer. The kind that wants to stick their head right in a videogame and huff it, but must make do with the petty constraints of reality. Honestly, it’s a bit much. But if that’s what you want, this 49-inch Samsung design is basically two 1440p OLED monitors crammed into one gigantic panel that barely even fits in a human’s field of vision. With 240Hz refresh rate you’ll need a powerful PC just to use it to its maximum, but it also comes with a USB hub and dual display support. At $900, it’s over $1000 off what these screens cost a couple of years ago.

The speed demon: MSI 27-inch OLED, 1440p, 360Hz, $570

Size isn’t everything. If you’re into competitive online multiplayer, you want as many frames crammed onscreen per second as you can. This MSI OLED monitor is exactly what you’re looking for. With the same 1440p resolution as the baseline but a 50 percent faster panel, you can get ultra-fast, ultra-smooth performance out of games like Counter-Strike, DOTA, and Fortnite. The design also includes some extra cooling functions to protect that high-speed panel.

The cinephile: Dell 32-inch OLED, 4K, 120Hz, $574

Ah, you have refined tastes. With “just” 120Hz refresh, this Dell OLED monitor is decent at gaming, but not as speedy as the other monitors on this list. But with a 32-inch 4K resolution panel, it’s perfect for crystal-clear movies and other videos. You also get 3D spatial audio from the built-in sound bar, 90 watts of power delivery for laptops, and a pop-out connector for more USB ports. With the extra space and pixels for multitasking, this one might be the best choice if you like to play games and work at the same spot.
