Mini PCs cover a wide range of uses in 2026. They replace tower PCs in the office, serve as media centers, or function as home servers. Peladn is targeting precisely this group of buyers with its affordable models. A price of around $350 is fair, but it’s not a sure-fire success: In this category, the mini PC is already competing with more modern Ryzen 7000/8000 systems as well as energy-efficient Intel N100, N150, or N305 models. Its price is therefore particularly well-suited to users who prioritize multi-core performance, two LAN ports, and easy upgradeability over modern graphics, AI features, or maximum efficiency.

Peladn WO4 5600H design and build quality

The WO4 makes a high-quality first impression. The metal alloy casing feels sturdy and dissipates heat effectively. The surface feels cool to the touch and is virtually fingerprint-proof.

Measuring around 5 × 5 × 2 inches, the computer remains pleasantly compact. It fits on any desk and can also be tucked away behind the monitor, thanks to the included VESA mount. Despite its compact design, nothing rattles, and the lid sits securely when closed.

It is precisely this cover that is the device’s standout feature. It is held in place magnetically and can be lifted off without tools. Beneath it lie the slots for two RAM modules, an M.2 SSD, and an additional 2.5-inch drive, all of which are easily accessible. An upgrade therefore takes just seconds. Many competitors require you to remove rubber feet and several screws to carry out the same task.

The cooling system uses a fan and heat pipes. It directs the Ryzen’s waste heat towards the rear, away from the user. During operation, the case remains lukewarm to the touch. The tool-free access also makes it easier to clean dust from the fins later on.

Peladn WO4 5600H specifications

At the heart of the WO4 is the AMD Ryzen 5 5600H. This six-core processor is from the Cezanne series and is aimed at buyers seeking solid multi-core performance in an affordable, easily upgradeable mini PC. The chip does not have its own AI unit. This is missing from the platform, unlike in more recent HS models featuring Ryzen AI.

The first limitation of the test unit becomes apparent when it comes to memory. It is fitted with a single 16GB DDR4-2666 module from Plusetech, featuring chips from SK Hynix. As a result, the module only operates in single-channel mode. This is sufficient for Office and web browsing, but it does hamper graphics performance. The two SODIMM slots can accommodate up to 64GB in total. Adding a second module is the first recommendation for any buyer.

Our test unit uses a 512GB SSD in the M.2 2280 format as the system drive. This is not a fast NVMe SSD, but a SATA model. This unnecessarily slows down the system, especially as the built-in M.2 slot also supports PCIe 3.0 NVMe.

The range of ports is generous. On the front panel there are two USB 3.2 Type-A ports (up to 5Gbit/s), a USB-C port, a combined jack socket for headsets, and a CLR CMOS reset button.

On the rear, the WO4 offers two further USB-A ports, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, two LAN sockets, and the DC input for the power supply. According to the manufacturer, the mini PC supports a triple-display setup via HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB-C. HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4 each deliver up to 4K at 60 Hertz; the USB-C port supports USB 3.2 with DisplayPort output and a data transfer rate of up to 10GBit/s. This allows you to connect two standard monitors as well as a third display or a docking station.

The networking capabilities are particularly noteworthy. The WO4 features two LAN ports, one with a speed of 2.5Gbit/s and one with Gigabit speed. There are no speed labels on the LAN sockets; on the test unit, the right-hand socket was the 2.5Gbit/s port. This combination is rare in this price range and makes the mini PC an attractive option for NAS access, home servers, or simple firewall tasks.

For wireless connections, Wi-Fi 6 with MU-MIMO and Bluetooth 5.2 are available; according to the manufacturer, the Wi-Fi module supports 8×8 MIMO.

Good: On its website, Peladn states that, in addition to the statutory warranty, it offers a limited manufacturer’s warranty of two years from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship. The Amazon listing for the WO4 mentions a limited Peladn warranty of 36 months. Buyers should therefore check the warranty details in the specific listing and keep their order documents.

Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed

Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed on the computer. The system came factory-installed with version 24H2 (Build 26100). After setting it up, we installed all the updates; the feature update to 25H2 was available straight away. We then installed the latest AMD drivers for the chipset and graphics. After that, the platform ran stably and without any issues.

Computing power

The Ryzen 5 5600H is from the Zen 3 generation and is manufactured using a 7-nanometer process. It offers six cores and 12 threads with a boost clock of up to 4.2GHz. The Radeon Vega 7 serves as the graphics solution. The underlying architecture isn’t new, but it remains solid for everyday use.

This compact computer really shows its strength in the 3DMark CPU profile. It achieves 4,550 points across all threads and 825 points in the single-thread test. The higher 45-watt power envelope pays off. Under sustained load, the processor maintains its clock speeds and delivers more multi-core performance than energy-efficient 15-watt models, which often score around 3,977 points in this test. When it comes to single-core performance, the picture is different, as newer Zen 4 chips such as the Ryzen 5 7640HS clearly outperform it with around 974 points.

In PCMark 10, the overall score is 4,287 points. The ‘Essentials’ sub-score is a respectable 9,053 points, while the ‘Productivity’ score drops significantly to 6,219 points. The reason for this is not the processor. The built-in SATA SSD and the single-channel RAM are holding the system back. Comparable mini PCs with NVMe SSDs and dual-channel RAM achieve far higher scores in this category, in some cases exceeding 14,000 points in the Productivity sub-score alone.

Graphics performance remains modest. In Time Spy, the Vega 7 achieves just 680 graphics points, with an overall score of 780 points. Steel Nomad Light completes the test with 622 points and 4.61 frames per second. The single-channel memory has a particularly significant impact here, as the integrated graphics require bandwidth.

An identically configured Vega system with dual-channel memory achieves around 1,180 points in Time Spy — a significantly higher score. A second RAM module therefore noticeably boosts gaming performance. Compared to the Radeon 780M in the identical WO4 model with a Ryzen 7 7640HS — which scores over 2,480 graphics points in Time Spy – it’s a whole generation behind.

When it comes to AI tasks, the WO4 is on a par with others in its class. Geekbench AI reports 2,415 points for single-precision and 3,929 points for quantized precision. As it lacks a dedicated NPU, the processor and graphics card handle the work. Modern chips with a dedicated AI unit are far ahead in this respect.

The SSD confirms this impression. In Crystal Disk Mark, it achieves 529MB/s read and 442MB/s write speeds. These are typical SATA figures, which are significantly lower than what an NVMe SSD in an M.2 slot would deliver. Switching to a PCIe 3.0 model therefore pays off quickly and speeds up the entire system.

Noise and power consumption

When idle, the WO4 remains pleasantly quiet. The fan spins slowly and is barely audible from a normal distance. Under load, it picks up speed but maintains a low, steady hum. There is no high-pitched whistling. Under sustained load, the processor temperature stabilized between 70 and 80 degrees without the clock speed dropping.

When it comes to power consumption, the mini PC really comes into its own. In normal operation, it draws less than 8 watts from the mains. Under full load, this rises to around 55 watts, which is in line with the processor’s 45-watt thermal design power. A standard desktop often requires over 80 watts in everyday use. Over the course of a year, this difference adds up to a noticeable saving.

Should you buy the Peladn WO4 5600H?

The Peladn WO4 5600H is less impressive as an overall value-for-money winner, but more so as a solid mini PC platform for clearly defined purposes. The Ryzen 5 5600H offers sufficient multi-core performance for office tasks, multitasking, and media playback. The cooling system operates quietly and keeps temperatures low. The build quality also leaves nothing to be desired.

Two features are particularly appealing. The magnetic cover makes upgrades a breeze, and the two LAN ports open up possibilities for home servers and network projects. This combination is rarely found in this price range.

For office work, home servers, NAS-related tasks and media playback, this combination is a strong choice. However, those primarily looking for a modern iGPU, AI acceleration, or the highest possible efficiency should also consider newer Ryzen 7000/8000 models or energy-efficient Intel N100, N150 and N305 systems.

In the test unit, however, the SATA SSD and single-channel memory hold the system back. Both components can be swapped out quickly thanks to the open top cover. Upgrading to an NVMe SSD and a second RAM module transforms this small computer into a significantly snappier system.

The Zen 3 platform lacks the power required for modern games or demanding AI applications. Anyone needing this should opt for a model featuring Zen 4 and RDNA 3 graphics. As a workstation for the desk, living room, or home server, the WO4 5600H remains a good choice.
