Samsung has launched a new portable monitor called the Movingstyle Portable Touchscreen. The 27-inch display is battery-powered with a touchscreen, and it can be used in two ways: with the built-in handle for carrying around, or the rollable stand. The screen weighs about 11.9 pounds and the battery life should reach about 3 hours of use. It can be charged either via the stand or an electrical outlet.
The Movingstyle has a resolution of 2560×1440, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and supports HDR10 Plus and Dolby Atmos. It also works as a smart TV with Samsung TV Plus and Gaming Hub, allowing it to be used for cloud game streaming via Xbox Cloud, GeForce Now, and Amazon Luna. It also has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, two USB-C ports, and an HDMI input.

Priced at an eye-watering $1,199, this monitor definitely isn’t going to be mainstream. But if you’re always on the go and working on your phone or laptop, this could be a good productivity investment. The fact that it’s battery-powered means it’s suitable for use as a Samsung DeX display (which essentially turns a Galaxy phone into a laptop).
There’s also a larger 32-inch 4K model called the Movingstyle M7 Smart Monitor, which can’t be detached from its stand and costs a much more affordable $699 (but still exorbitantly more than most portable monitors).
