LG’s Ultragear 45GX900A-B OLED monitor is designed for gaming from the ground up, with a massive 45-inch ultrawide panel that won’t destroy your framerate thanks to some clever panel work. Normally $1,700, today you can get it new from eBay for just $799.99. That’s as much as you would have paid for a 27-inch OLED a couple of years ago.
At 45 inches diagonally, this monitor is almost as big as the biggest OLEDs on the market. But with a semi-standard 21:9 aspect ratio and a 3440×1440 resolution, it’s actually driving the same amount of pixels as most 34-inch screens. So while you won’t get the amazing density of a 4K or double-1440p monitor, like this one, you’ll be able to hit its maximum 240Hz refresh rate without absolutely crushing your gaming PC. It’s an excellent “sweet spot” if you’re looking for an incredible OLED picture without sacrificing performance.
The display has some other goodies as well. The 800R curve of the panel is dramatic, much more so than the usual ultrawide, and it’s packing USB-C video with 65 watts of power delivery. That makes it a much better companion to a laptop, gaming or otherwise, than some OLED monitors. And, speaking of which, LG is offering a two year warranty on the OLED panel, something you may not get if you go for a refurbished model.
eBay is offering this one for $999.99, already a pretty good price, but if you add the coupon code “CYBERWEEK20” at checkout you can take off an additional 20 percent. That brings it down to $799.99, and I’m seeing free shipping to my Pennsylvania home. If I was in the market for an OLED monitor this Black Friday, this is the one I’d scoop up. But if it’s not quite what you’re looking for, we’ve got plenty of other options in PCWorld’s monitor deals roundup.
