Amazon’s “Renewed” store is currently selling an Apple Watch Ultra 2 for the exceptionally low price of $339, in “Excellent” condition. That’s a good deal cheaper than we’re used to seeing, even for Renewed products, and less expensive than the smallest Apple Watch Series 11 when it’s not on sale.
We were as shocked as you are to learn that watchOS 27 will not be compatible with the original Apple Watch Ultra. In order to run watchOS 27 when it is released this fall, you need an Apple Watch with at least an S9 processor, and the Apple Watch Ultra only has an S8. That means you need to upgrade to an Apple Watch Ultra 2 or Ultra 3. And if you want to get the latest updates without dropping $700 on a new watch, maybe buying a used one is the way to go.
Amazon’s Renewed products are not refurbished—they have not been updated with new batteries or parts, and don’t always come in the original packaging. It’s more like “used but with the condition verified.” An Excellent condition means no screen scratches and no cosmetic damage visible from 12 inches away. The battery has to have at least 80 percent of its usable life, and it comes either with the original box and accessories or generic equivalents. And if you’re unhappy with it, Amazon offers a 90-day return or replacement guarantee.
Otherwise, you’re getting a fully working Apple Watch Ultra 2 with tons of health and fitness features, a gorgeous 49mm screen and titanium design, and a Blue Ocean Band. As we said, you’ll get watchOS 27 with the new Siri AI, as well as a new double-tap gesture, dynamic app grid, and redesigned Find My app, along with design and performance improvements throughout.
Note that Amazon Renewed products are often in limited supply and are often sold and shipped by third-party vendors through Amazon. The price can fluctuate depending on the remaining stock and sellers. But the $339 price is lower than we’ve seen for a watchOS 27 capable Apple Watch Ultra 2, which typicalls sell for $399 or more. So go grab one while you still can.
