It seemed like just yesterday when we wrote an article about how you shouldn’t bother looking for deals on Apple’s MacBook Neo. As we explained, Amazon was only taking $10 off the price, and, given Apple’s strategy with the Neo, that was unlikely to go any lower.
Well, 24 hours later, things have changed a lot. While Amazon may still be selling the 256GB MacBook Neo for $590, Apple has increased its price to $699 as part of a massive pricing adjustment to cover rising component costs. In fact, the Neo got off easy—some MacBooks went up by as much as $500. The same goes for Amazon’s UK store.
So that $9 discount is suddenly $109. And we’d recommend you snatch one up right now because once stock runs out, the price will jump to $690 for the same machine with the same specs. And there’s no indication that prices will be dropping back anytime soon.
Apple has certainly raised prices in the past, but I’ve never experienced anything quite like today’s price increases. There’s no extra storage or anything new at all—you’re just paying a lot more today for the stuff Apple sold yesterday. So don’t hesitate because I have no idea how long Amazon’s stock—or lower price—will last.
