My tech gear tends to get scuffed up as soon as I get them. Not on purpose, of course—it just happens as they’re carried around in my bag. The shiny new veneer that gives them their freshly minted look disappears all too quickly for my liking.
One example: The side of my headset got grazed almost immediately after I bought it, and I scratched a line on my smartwatch’s face by carrying it in the same sleeve as my laptop charger. Oops.
But there’s one piece of kit that hasn’t been tarnished: my gaming mouse. Why not? Because I got this $14 mouse carrying case at the same time and I’ve been using it from the get-go.
Serounder
This case (by a brand called Serounder) is made of a lightweight material with a hard outer shell covered by a woven fabric. Inside is a soft, suede-like material that feels nice and tactile to the touch. The hard/soft combination reminds me of a violin case I had when I was younger, and I get a similarly satisfying feeling putting my mouse away after each use.
It’s good knowing that my mouse is protected. It means my mouse, safely cocooned inside its case, is protected from drops, scratches, and pressure put on it by anything that rubs up against it, rests on top of it, or presses into it inside my bag.

So far, this case has proved its worth many times over, keeping my gaming mouse in pristine condition despite it being several years old and having traveled with me on my daily commute to work and on long trips to places like San Francisco, New York, and Nashville. The veneer still looks new, the buttons work perfectly, and there’s none of that annoying grime that accumulates in the crevices after months of use.
I actually bought this mouse case off eBay, but the exact same one is available on Amazon. It’s designed to fit the Logitech MX Vertical, but it also fits my Razer Cobra Pro and I’m sure it’d fit any other mouse of a similar compact size and shape—few mice are that different as to warrant their own case, but be sure to check the dimensions before you buy.
