Apple’s 13.6-inch MacBook Air with the M4 chip has dropped all the way down to $1,799, a $500 savings, and the reason this one’s worth a look isn’t just because of the $500 discount alone, but how much you’re getting for it.
This model pairs a max 32GB of unified memory with a 2TB SSD for a fully loaded monster machine. The 32GB gives you plenty of power for heavy multitasking, allowing you to open dozens of browser tabs, several apps open at once, and so on. The 2TB drive means you’ll never have to think about storage space again, even as you pile up photos, projects, and downloads without the constant cleanup you’d do on a smaller drive.
Plus, keep in mind that both RAM and storage are soldered in and can’t be upgraded later. So while the base configurations look tempting, you’ll be better off paying a little more now and enjoying the performance boost later.
The M4 chip isn’t Apple’s newest, but it still delivers tons of power to drive your daily workload with ease, from office tasks to web browsing, media streaming, photo editing, and so on. At about 2.7 pounds and thin enough to disappear into a bag, it’s genuinely easy to carry from room to room or take on the road. The 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display is sharp and easy on the eyes for a full day of reading and typing.
Worth being clear on what this isn’t, though: this is the mainstream Air, not the Pro. There’s no high-refresh display, no MiniLED, no Thunderbolt 5 or HDMI, and definitely no SD card slot. If you don’t need those pro extras, you won’t miss them, as the Air is, in general, the best everyday laptop for most people who don’t need a workstation. So, at $1,799, this is an easy pick if you want a light, capable Mac with room to grow built in.
