Earlier this year, Apple finally replaced the Pro Display XDR with the Studio Display XDR. While it’s nowhere near as expensive as it used to be, starting at $5,998 if you wanted a display, it’s still very expensive–$3,299, to be exact. That’s a price that’ll make you think twice and probably just end up picking something cheaper.
Fortunately, there’s now a way to get the Studio Display XDR for $500 less. The Apple Certified Refurbished Store has stocked the Studio Display XDR for $2,799, which is a lot more attractive than the regular price. This model includes a tilt- and height-adjustable stand and standard glass, though other options are available as well.
In our 4-star review of the Studio Display XDR, we praised it as “the display to make your content shine,” concluding that the “color gamut and accuracy are top-notch, HDR picture quality is fantastic, and even the webcam is really good.” As far as the specs go, you’re getting a 27-inch display with 5120-by-2880 resolution, ProMotion, and HDR. It’s a massive step up from the standard Studio Display, which costs $1,999 when you upgrade to the same tile- and height-adjustable stand.
Really, the only thing that made us flinch about the Studio Display XDR was the price. Going with the refurbished model softens the blow a bit. And you can be assured that products in the Apple Certified Refurbished Store are inspected, repaired with genuine Apple parts, cleaned, and tested before they’re put on the market. You can barely tell them apart from new products; they come with Apple’s standard one-year warranty; and you can opt for AppleCare if you want for $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year.
